FURUNO’s FA-70 class-B AIS transponder receives navigation data from AIS-equipped vessels nearby that can be utilized to aid in safe navigation. Also, the FA-70 transmits own ship’s information to the vessels around, which also aids in collision avoidance. Includes a GPA-C01 GPS Antenna.

The FA-70 AIS receives the vessel name, call sign, position, COG, SOG, and other useful information from surrounding vessels. The FA-70 is a Class-B+ AIS that transmits the vessel information at higher power & faster rates than typical Class B units for added awareness. SO-TDMA guarantees an AIS time slot allocation, making you visible in congested waters.

The Automatic Identification System (AIS) improves the safety level of boating by exchanging information about the status of your ship with other AIS-equipped craft nearby. Simply tap on an AIS target to reveal critical information: Ship’s name, COG, SOG, CPA, TCPA, Range and Bearing. AIS targets are fully visible and predictable when interfacing with a compatible Furuno Radar.

Includes a GPA-C01 GPS antenna with 10m cable fitted and TNC Socket connector. The GPA-C01 is a compact and lightweight package designed to withstand harsh outdoor environments including rain, wind, sunlight and temperature changes.
